My name is Trevor “That Guy” Vicars, and one day I had a thought. Why not create an IT firm that has a sole purpose of helping small business. Helping people is paramount and the sole goal of the company. Profits are there just to keep the doors open. While taking a class with the CBDC in Moncton, looking at entrepreneurship as a plan “D” instead of going back to the lucrative corporate life. I was told something that he learned long ago, and in the big corporate world somehow forgot.
If you are going to be an entrepreneur, then don’t do it for the money, the money keeps the doors open, passion makes the business succeed.
OK, so what am I passionate about?
Helping people.
Perhaps working as a big cog in a big machine that is a massive corporation isn’t really for me. I had a wealth of experience in Business, IT,Project management, People Management, Interviewing, Hiring / Firing, Process Management, Retail Management, HR, Marketing, Sales, Accounting, Finance, Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Why not take all those skills and experienced I have gained from over twenty plus years and strike out on my own.
Around 6 Months after that course the former plan “D” of “Start your own company”, became plan “A”. Through the support of my new friends and colleagues in the Moncton area, and with the support and assistance of the CBDC and my friends at the Moncton Chamber of Commerce where I made many new contacts that were entrepreneurs and company owners. I decided to go for it and form a company.
I have always been interested in helping people. All of my careers and jobs have been around helping others at the core. Like many people there are things that Trevor is good at, and things that he is not. Repairing cars, for one instance, is not something he is good at. Going to the mechanic is a scary thing for him, he never knows if the mechanic is going to “overcharge” him or “rip him off”. Sadly in his lifetime it has happened, normally with “Car Dealerships”. So to address the problem he started going to a smaller garage where he knew the and trusted the owner. In this way, if there ever was a problem, he could talk directly to the owner, and not a faceless corporation, where responsibility is always redirected to someone else, and no one takes individual ownership.
Trevor believes that too many companies are preyed upon by technology companies, both large and small. Sadly, companies and individuals can take advantage of users that are not overly technically savvy, and overcharge and oversell them products or services that they don’t need.
But what if there was another way.
What if a small business owner, could directly contract another small business owner that they trust to provide IT services?
Trust
Its the name of the game, when you are a small business you live and die by your reputation in the marketplace. In the Moncton / Dieppe and Riverview area, that marketplace is small.
Why not form a company that at its core, provides honest, reliable service, and backs it up with a promise.
You will ALWAYS be able to talk to the owner of the company.
We will ALWAYS do our best to make you happy, sometimes that means we won’t make a profit, but our reputation is more important to us than profit.
We are a premium priced technical company that focuses on service, and value for business. We are not a discount company that competes at the lowest price.
